A & J Wrought Iron provides
quality decorative wrought iron, with a beautiful flair. It is our
goal to provide artistic wrought iron work that is beautiful as
well as functional. We believe it is important to offer work that is not
stamped out in a factory. Our work is custom designed and hand made in
the USA, with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
A & J Wrought Iron is a small company operated by John & Amy Carter.
We offer garden sculptures, gates, wall sconces, plant stands and
hangers, hooks and many more handmade items for the home and
garden. We also offer our services on a commission basis for anyone
looking for a particular custom item.
Artist Bio
John & Amy Carter are both artists and enjoy sharing their art with others through their work. They produce most of their wrought iron work as a collaboration. Amy contributes through her talents of drawing, and occasionally breaking out a hammer, and John does most of the design and fabrication work. John (Mark to friends and family) and Amy both come from an artistic background and have included the arts in much of their daily lives. Both of John's parents are professional musicians and potters and Amy's mother is a professional artist. Amy also currently enjoys working with graphite and colored pencils when she is not helping John or working in her studio (Smiling Goat Studio), or as director of Bedford Academy for the Arts. John began working with metal in 1996 and has not looked back since. He is constantly looking to learn new things and his ever evolving designs reflect this.
